Middle School Volleyball Coach – 2025-2026

Job Title: Middle School Volleyball Head Coach
Location: Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy, Overland Park, KS
Position Type: Seasonal
Reports To: Director of Athletics
Position Summary: Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy (HBHA) is an independent private school in Overland Park, KS. HBHA is a member of the Great Plains Athletic Conference, which consists of private and charter schools in both Kansas and Missouri. The ideal candidate will look to teach student-athletes the fundamentals of volleyball while promoting HBHA Athletic’s values of sportsmanship, respect, and hard work in an inclusive and positive environment ideal for personal growth and player development.

Key Responsibilities
●  Coaching and Instruction:
○  Teach volleyball fundamentals and develop athletes skills in all aspects of the game
○  Plan and execute all practice sessions with a focus on skill development and fitness (Tue/Thur 3:45-5:30, Sun 6-7:30 availability required)
○  Create a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for all athletes, fostering a love of the game and encouraging personal growth
○  Attend and lead all games throughout the season (Season goes from middle of August to the end of October)

●  Communication and Collaboration:
○  Maintain clear and open communication with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding any schedule changes and game/practice details
○  Work closely with Varsity/JV coaches on the goals of developing Middle School volleyball players
○  Consistently communicate with the Athletic Director regarding any issues or needs with the team

●  Administrative Assistance:
○  Assist in the management of practice schedule and game logistics
○  Update Teamsnap with game results after each competitio
○  Assist with gameday setup and teardown

Qualifications:
●  Previous experience coaching and/or playing volleyball preferred
●  Strong knowledge of volleyball techniques, rules, and strategies
●  Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and administration
●  Enthusiastic, organized, and committed to student-athlete development on and off the court
●  A background check and clearance for working with children are required
